Uma cadela-guia entregue a uma mulher cega e diabética verificou que esta não estava bem de saúde, na quarta-feira de madrugada, no quarto onde dormia, no Porto, e procurou ajuda externa.
Com este desempenho, o animal, de raça Labrador, conseguiu que a mulher fosse assistida a tempo ao coma hipoglicémico e depois transportada para o Hospital de S. João.
A cadela-guia foi treinada pela Associação Beira Aguieira de Apoio ao Deficiente Visual, de Mortágua. O caso exemplar foi divulgado nas redes sociais pela associação e conta já com milhares de partilhas e comentários a elogiar a atuação da cadela-guia.
No dia em que se comemorou o 183.º aniversário do concelho, Vila Nova de Famalicão entregou os Selos Visão’25 a 11 empresas e instituições, distinguindo assim 11 projetos inspiradores que têm contribuído para a coesão, competitividade e desenvolvimento inteligente e sustentável do território.

O ex-internacional português de voleibol Nuno Rocha morreu na quinta-feira, aos 37 anos, após doença prolongada, comunicou esta sexta-feira a Federação Portuguesa de Voleibol (FPV).
Nuno Rocha, que se retirou prematuramente por motivos de saúde, representou a Associação Académica de São Mamede, Leixões, Castêlo da Maia, Académica de Espinho, Esmoriz, Gueifães e Sporting de Espinho.
“Jogador da seleção e conhecido pelo seu espírito de lutador e por uma alegria contagiante, Nuno Rocha deixou a sua marca indelével em todos quantos com ele privaram”, refere em comunicado a FPV.
O corpo de Nuno Rocha vai estar em câmara ardente na Igreja de Cedofeita, a partir das 17h30 de hoje, sendo o funeral no domingo, em Joane, Vila Nova de Famalicão, em hora a definir.
Os preços dos combustíveis vão registar um aumento significativo a partir de segunda-feira: o litro do gasóleo vai subir dois cêntimos e também a gasolina se prepara para aumentar um cêntimo por litro, adiantou fonte do setor ao jornal ECO.
Uma mulher, com cerca de 30 anos, ficou ferida na sequência de um acidente, na Avenida da Industria, em Ribeirão, Vila Nova de Famalicão.
O acidente aconteceu por volta das 23h00, a carro terá entrado em despiste e caiu para um campo. A única vítima desta ocorrência foi assistida no local pelos Bombeiros Voluntários de Famalicão e INEM.
A condutora foi transportada para o hospital de Braga.
A Riopele iniciou, no final do mês de agosto, a construção de uma central solar fotovoltaica, exclusivamente para autoconsumo, na freguesia de Castelões, em Vila Nova de Famalicão, no âmbito da sua estratégia de responsabilidade ambiental.
Com início de produção previsto para o final de 2018, o projeto representa um investimento de cerca de um milhão de euros e possibilitará a produção de uma percentagem significativa da energia elétrica necessária ao funcionamento de uma das suas unidades produtivas de fiação.
No total, serão instalados 2940 módulos fotovoltaicos, montados sobre estruturas fixas, numa área de implantação de cerca de 1,5 hectares.
Com uma potência instalada de 1 MW, a nova central solar irá produzir anualmente cerca de 1.465 MWh, representando uma poupança estimada de 14% da fatura de energia elétrica desta unidade produtiva e a redução da emissão de 689 toneladas de CO2 por ano.
Este novo projeto de investimento, no domínio da eficiência energética e redução do consumo de energia, soma-se a outros já desenvolvidos, dos quais se destacam a modernização contínua de máquinas e equipamentos, a instalação de posto de carregamento de veículos elétricos, bem como a substituição gradual da frota por veículos elétricos e a substituição dos sistemas de aquecimento, ventilação e ar condicionado por novos sistemas mais eficientes AVAC.
