O jovem nadador famalicense, em representação do GD Natação, é campeão nacional de fundo, em juvenis B.
Afonso Monteiro somou 1168 pontos, com duas prestações de grande qualidade nos 1500 metros livres (601 pontos) e nos 400 estilos (567 pontos).
Com este desempenho, Afonso destacou-se claramente da concorrência, com o segundo e terceiro a alcançarem 1108 e 1106 pontos, respetivamente.
A prestação de Afonso Monteiro decorreu em Vila Meã, com outros nadadores nacionais a realizarem as suas em diferentes pontos do país. A prova é feita por cada associação territorial e, depois, mediante a pontuação é atribuído o título nacional.

Os valores doados serão integralmente convertidos em alimentos pela Mercadona e entregues aos respetivos bancos alimentares, que podem selecionar a variedade e quantidade de produtos que pretendem de acordo com as suas necessidades específicas, contribuindo assim para apoiar quem mais precisa.
Isabel Jonet, Presidente da Federação Portuguesa dos Bancos Alimentares Contra a Fome, sublinha que esta é “uma campanha para mobilizar toda a sociedade num apelo à solidariedade, à partilha e ao voluntariado. Uma proposta que se renova duas vezes por ano e que graças ao apoio de muitas pessoas, empresas e entidades permite levar alimento a quem mais precisa. A Mercadona é um parceiro fundamental e destacaria os colaboradores que durante 10 dias se transformam em voluntários de uma causa e convidam os clientes a participar na luta contra a fome na sua região, aproximando quem dá de quem precisa de receber ajuda”.
Doações da Mercadona em 2024
Com o objetivo de partilhar com a Sociedade parte do que dela recebe, a empresa colabora com mais de 80 entidades de cariz social, entre as quais Bancos Alimentares, IPSS e ONG, a partir de cada uma das suas 63 lojas e dos seus Blocos Logísticos da Póvoa de Varzim e Almeirim. No total, ao longo do ano de 2024, a empresa doou 1 300 toneladas de alimentos o equivalente a 22 760 carrinhos de compras de bens de primeira necessidade.
Mercadona em Portugal
Após os primeiros 5 anos no país, a Mercadona conta com 7 000 empregos criados, através de contratos sem termo desde o primeiro dia e salários atrativos.
Em 2024, a Mercadona realizou um investimento total de 219 milhões de euros em Portugal, atingiu um volume de vendas de 1 778 milhões de euros, e contribuiu com 237 milhões de euros em impostos através da empresa portuguesa Irmãdona Supermercados, com sede em Vila Nova de Gaia.
O projeto de internacionalização em Portugal continuou também a permitir à Mercadona realizar um trabalho muito próximo com a sua rede de fornecedores nacionais aos quais comprou, no decorrer desse ano, mais de 1 400 milhões de euros.
Para 2025, a empresa tem previsto um investimento de mais 157 milhões de euros e a abertura de 10 novas lojas.
Na noite desta sexta-feira, o FC Famalicão recebe a taça de campeão nacional de futsal da segunda divisão. O troféu será entregue no final da partida com o Modicus, agendada para as 21h30, no Pavilhão Municipal das Lameiras.

Castelões vai celebrar a Festa em Honra de S. António, de 13 a 15 de junho.
No começo do mês, a Comissão de Festas convida a população a participar no Levantamento da Bandeira acompanhada pela Fanfarra dos Escuteiros de Castelões, às 15h30, dia 1 de junho. No domingo seguinte, dia 8, realiza-se o Leilão.
A 13 de junho a festividade começa às 08h30 com missa e sermão em Honra de Sto. António, na Capela, com distribuição do Pão. Às 20h00 há garraiada e às 22h00 o DJ Joca Veloso anima a Noite Branca em Castelões.
No sábado, dia 14, a Eucaristia está agendada para as 18h00 e às 22h00 começa a animação musical com João Dantas. Uma hora depois, o palco será ocupado pelo DJ Hallux Makenzo & Mc Taty Agressivo. E a noite não fica por aqui, às 24h00 há a habitual sessão de fogo de artifício e segue-se o DJ Menasso, à 01h30.
A Banda Bingre Canelense fará a entrada no domingo, às 09h00 e a missa com sermão em honra do padroeiro começa às 11h00. A meio da tarde sai a Procissão solene e o grupo Sons do Minho sobe ao palco às 17h30. A banda de música volta a atuar às 19h00 e o encerramento da festa acontece uma hora depois.
Seide S. Paio vai estar em festa de 13 a 15 de junho com a celebração em honra de Nossa Senhora do Parto. A festividade tem início na sexta-feira, dia 13, com a procissão de velas às 21h00 e no final a atuação da Incognituna.
O sábado começa com uma salva de morteiros logo pelas 08h00. Às 14h30, o Grupo de Zés Pereiras “Nós e os Outros” vão percorrer a freguesia e às 21h00 sobem ao palco os Ecos da Tuna, seguidos por Tiago Maroto e a sua banda, às 22h30. A noite termina com um espetáculo de fogo de artifício às 00h30.
No domingo, nova salva de morteiros, às 11h00 é celebrada a missa da festa cantada pelo Grupo Coral da freguesia e haverá ainda a bênção das grávidas.
Às 16h00 sai à rua a Procissão em Honra de Nossa Senhora do Parto, acompanhada pelos Bombeiros Voluntários de Barcelinhos e da Banda Marcial de Arnoso.
Duas horas depois está preparada a atuação do grupo Amigos das Concertinas e a festa encerra uma sessão de fogo de artifício às 19h00.
