Entre os dias 12 e 15 de abril, decorreram em S. Pedro do Sul, os Campeonatos Nacionais de Jovens, na vertente lentas da época 2024/2025. O evento reuniu mais de três centenas de jovens atletas de todo o país, divididos por escalões etários de sub-8 a sub-20, num total de sete jornadas disputadas ao longo de cinco dias de competição.
O Clube de Xadrez Associação Académica da Didáxis esteve representado com uma delegação de 10 atletas, acompanhados por Mário Oliveira, Coordenador do CX A2D, e Carlos Novais, atleta da equipa A. A comitiva deixou uma marca positiva dentro e fora do tabuleiro.
Destaque para João Pedro Afonso que liderou o torneio sub-18 até à última ronda e terminou em 3º lugar absoluto. Também em evidência esteve Francisco Silva, no escalão sub-10, ao alcançar o 8º lugar absoluto.
Decorrem até ao dia 31 de maio, as inscrições para o Concurso Lusófono da Trofa – Prémio Matilde Rosa Araújo 2025, um dos mais importantes concursos literários dedicados à Literatura Infantil em língua portuguesa.
Com mais de duas décadas de história, o concurso tem como principais objetivos incentivar a produção literária, promover a língua portuguesa como instrumento de expressão cultural comum entre os países da CPLP e homenagear o legado de Matilde Rosa Araújo, figura incontornável da literatura infantil portuguesa.
O concurso está aberto a pessoas maiores de idade, legalmente residentes há mais de dois anos em países lusófonos. Os interessados podem entregar os seus trabalhos em mão na Casa da Cultura da Trofa ou via correio registado, com aviso de receção.
Os prémios são atribuídos nas categorias de conto literário e ilustração, sendo que o melhor conto e melhor ilustração recebem 2.500 euros cada. O conto vencedor será ilustrado pelo autor da melhor ilustração, permitindo a sua posterior publicação e lançamento nacional.

O Agrupamento de Escuteiros de Landim e o escutismo concelhio está de luto pelo falecimento do Chefe Monteiro. Para além de ser um dos fundadores do Agrupamento 261, também esteve na génese do Núcleo de Famalicão.
Em Landim, para além de ser chefe durante vários anos, «foi responsável pelo crescimento do agrupamento e marcou muitos jovens da nossa comunidade». Entrou para o escutismo no dia que foi fundado o CNE nesta freguesia, «fazendo parte daqueles jovens que deram o passo de experimentar um movimento novo na comunidade paroquial e daqui nunca mais saiu. Foram 80 anos de escutismo, que só a idade o foi afastando. Ninguém ficava indiferente à sua presença», escreve o agrupamento que recorda uma frase dita, vezes sem conta, pelo Chefe Monteiro: «O melhor que me aconteceu na vida foi ter sido escuteiro».
O corpo chegará ao Mosteiro de Landim esta terça feira, às 10h30, e o funeral é às 11 horas.

A Juventude Pacense, treinada pelo famalicense Hugo Azevedo, já trabalha na preparação da próxima época. Um dos reforços é Diogo Abreu, jogador da UD Oliveirense, que fez a sua formação no Riba d´Ave HC. O hoquista, de 24 anos, natural da vila ribadavense, cumpriu várias épocas na AD Valongo, estando na Oliveirense desde a época 23-24.
A equipa de Paços de Ferreira está a fazer uma grande época no nacional de hóquei em patins, ocupando atualmente o sexto posto, com 31 pontos, e é uma das formações que disputará a final four da Taça de Portugal, que será jogada no Pavilhão Municipal, no dia 30 de abril e 1 de maio.
Esta sexta-feira, Famalicão assinala os 51 anos do 25 de Abril com uma sessão solene da Assembleia Municipal. Um momento para evocar e comemorar mais um aniversário desta data importante para a história e democracia em Portugal.
A sessão solene terá início às 10h00, com o hastear da Bandeira e o entoar do Hino Nacional, eventos seguidos de uma homenagem aos ex-presidentes da Assembleia Municipal de Famalicão na Terceira República. Como habitualmente, haverá a intervenção de todos os partidos com representação na Assembleia Municipal: PSD, PS, CDS, Chega e CDU, assim como do presidente da Câmara, Mário Passos, e do presidente da Assembleia Municipal, João Nascimento.
Para o presidente da Assembleia, a realização desta sessão e a evocação desta data «é um exercício de memória coletiva da comunidade, para que a efeméride não caia, em tempo algum, no esquecimento, sob pena de, acontecendo, nos vermos no perigoso caminho da repetição histórica que nos leve de novo aos extremismos e à intolerância».
Sobre a homenagem aos ex-presidentes da Assembleia Municipal, João Nascimento disse que «é completamente merecida e surge de forma natural. Numa altura em que tantas vezes as instituições democráticas são postas em causa por atentados à democracia, é importante que relembremos e reconheçamos tudo quanto os que nos antecederam fizeram pela comunidade no exercício dedicado à causa pública, para que hoje possamos permanecer nos trilhos da Democracia. E esta Homenagem da Assembleia Municipal é uma forma de gratidão e reconhecimento por isso também», refere.
Com o mote “Fortes razões, fazem fortes ações”, a ACIP e a empresa Gabriel Couto assinaram um protocolo de colaboração tendo em vista a Casa do Pinheiro, um C.A.C.I. – Centro de Atividades e Capacitação para a Inclusão que está em construção, em Antas.
O presidente da ACIP, Francisco Lima, deixou o agradecimento e reconhecimento ao administrador António Gabriel Couto, com o “Mérito de Benemerência”, frisou que esta parceria é «para a vida» e que a Construções Gabriel Couto S.A. «seja uma inspiração para outras empresas se juntarem a esta causa com impacto social».
Enquanto que António Gabriel Couto disse ser «uma grande honra assinar este protocolo que vai ajudar a construção deste edifício que vai ter impacto nas vidas das pessoas com deficiência, relevando também a memória do meu pai que nos passou os valores da solidariedade e altruísmo. Este é um protocolo de responsabilidade social que representa a sua memória».
A Casa do Pinheiral é um C.A.C.I. – Centro de Atividades e Capacitação para a Inclusão, que terá 30 novos lugares para jovens e adultos com deficiência e incapacidade. «Comprometidos com a promoção da inclusão e da igualdade de oportunidades, desenvolvemos este projeto como resposta às necessidades mais urgentes da população com deficiência», refere a ACIP.
