Os técnicos do Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera alertam, há caravelas-portuguesas a ser avistadas nas praias do norte de Portugal.
“Muito influenciada por ventos e correntes de superfície, a caravela-portuguesa (physalia physalis) é uma espécie comum na costa portuguesa, incluindo Açores e Madeira. É caracterizada por um flutuador em forma de balão, frequentemente de cor azul ou rosada”, refere o IPMA em comunicado.
O IPMA diz ainda que está é uma espécie que exige ainda “mais cautela”, já que podem provocar fortes queimaduras sem que estejam ao lado das pessoas, já que possuem tentáculos que podem atingir os 30 metros de distância.
