Um grupo de assaltantes destruiu, na madrugada desta quinta-feira, por volta das 05h00, parte da fachada do Café Estrela, localizado na freguesia de Pousada de Saramagos.

Em poucos minutos carregaram a máquina do tabaco e alguns produtos que estariam expostos nas vitrines.
O dono do café, que no andar superior, acordou com o barulho do alarme e só conseguiu ver o grupo de assaltantes a fugir com a máquina no interior do Opel Astra.
O caso está entregue às autoridades que conseguiram localizar a máquina do tabaco, deixada destruída e vazia na berma da A3.
Joana Campos tem 19 anos. A jovem natural de Vila Nova de Famalicão, que tem mais dois irmãos, ingressou este ano no ensino superior e hoje frequenta o primeiro ano do curso de Línguas Aplicadas da Universidade do Minho.
Esta quarta-feira, 28 de março, Dia Nacional da Juventude, Joana esteve na Casa das Artes de Famalicão para receber, juntamente com mais 272 estudantes universitários naturais do concelho, a bolsa de estudo para o ensino superior concedida há mais de uma década pela autarquia, através do pelouro da Juventude. Um apoio sem o qual, conta, tudo seria muito mais difícil. “Os meus pais não têm todas as possibilidades do mundo e esta é uma ajuda importante para pagar propinas, transportes e outras despesas que tenho”.
Encargos que Alexandra Rocha também conhece bem, com um filho de 20 anos a frequentar o curso de Criminologia, no Instituto Superior da Maia. “Todos os meses é um pouco complicado, tenho que gerir o orçamento com muito esforço, mas com esta ajuda enorme por parte da Câmara Municipal conseguimos pelo menos aliviar a prestação mensal das propinas”.
Recorde-se que só nos últimos cinco anos, o município de Vila Nova de Famalicão aumentou em 50 por cento o investimento concedido às bolsas de estudo para o ensino superior. A verba municipal passou de 120 mil euros, em 2013, para cerca de 180 mil euros, em 2018, com os apoios a oscilarem este ano entre os 500 euros e os 1100 euros.
Para o Presidente da Câmara Municipal, “os melhores e mais eficazes investimentos são aqueles que se fazem nas pessoas, na sua qualificação e formação” e por isso o edil acredita que “o sucesso destes jovens será também um dia o sucesso de Vila Nova de Famalicão”.
Num discurso motivador, Paulo Cunha deixou ainda um repto aos jovens que ontem estiveram na Casa das Artes: “Quando concluírem o vosso percurso olhem de novo para Vila Nova de Famalicão, não se esqueçam do concelho que vos deu conforto. Tragam para Famalicão aquilo que aprenderam, façam nascer cá os vossos projetos e quando atingirem o vosso objetivo, venham concretizá-lo entre nós”.
As ruas do Vale e de Pindela, localizadas na freguesia de S. Tiago da Cruz, que fazem a ligação à Casa de Pindela, classificada como monumento de Interesse Público desde 2012, foi recentemente melhorada e pavimentada, mantendo, no entanto, a sua traça original.
As obras, a cargo da Junta de Freguesia, beneficiaram de um investimento municipal de 35 mil euros, ao abrigo dos contratos interadministrativos de delegação de competências.
O presidente da Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Famalicão, Paulo Cunha, acompanhado pelo presidente da Junta de Freguesia de Cruz, António Simões, e pelo vereador das Freguesias Mário Passos, percorreram a rua, mostrando-se muito satisfeitos com o resultado da obra.
Para António Simões “trata-se de uma obra importantíssima, pois é o único acesso direto entre a freguesia de Cruz e Mouquim”. “Era uma obra reclamada há cerca de 50 anos, mas não era uma obra fácil”, adiantou o autarca.
Para além do acesso à freguesia vizinha, estas vias são a principal passagem à Casa de Pindela, uma propriedade de turismo rural com cerca de 80 hectares, que abrange a totalidade de um vale em S. Tiago da Cruz. A casa, tipicamente minhota com origens no século XV, é rodeada por uma vasta mata com árvores raras e centenárias, que serve de habitat a diversas espécies da fauna
Esta está a ser uma semana de pura diversão para as 500 crianças famalicenses que participam nas Férias Desportivas e Recreativas da Páscoa, promovidas anualmente pela Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Famalicão e destinadas aos alunos do 1º ciclo.
A semana arrancou com cinema e com a realização de atividades desportivas nas piscinas municipais do concelho.
Esta terça-feira, dia 27, o dia foi passado na capital, com uma visita ao Oceanário de Lisboa.
A iniciativa prosseguiu esta quarta-feira, dia 28, com mais atividades físicas e com um workshop de artes manuais e jogos tradicionais, terminando esta quinta-feira, dia 29, com uma visita ao Zoo de Santo Inácio, em Vila Nova de Gaia.
O Presidente da Câmara Municipal de Vila Nova de Famalicão, Paulo Cunha, realizou na terça-feira, 27 de março, a tradicional visita Pascal ao Hospital de Famalicão, acompanhado pela direção, equipa médica, pessoal administrativo e auxiliar desta unidade de saúde do concelho.
O edil e a restante comitiva percorreram as várias enfermarias, visitando os utentes e deixando uma palavra de conforto a todos.
“Cumpre-nos fazer estas visitas e deixar uma palavra de conforto, sobretudo quando nos aproximamos de uma época festiva com um simbolismo tão grande para as nossas famílias como é o caso da Páscoa. É um gesto simples, mas que espero que traga algum alento para ultrapassar esta fase menos positiva”, disse o edil.
Recorde-se que a visita Pascal no Hospital de Famalicão é já uma tradição da Câmara Municipal, por altura da Páscoa, mas também do Natal.
