Em pleno Dia Internacional do Voluntariado, celebrado a 5 de dezembro, a YUPI foi reconhecida pelo Instituto Português do Desporto e Juventude (IPDJ) com o Prémio de Boas Práticas do Associativismo Jovem, na região Norte, com o projecto “Oficinas de Inovação Social”.
O projeto foi concebido e implementado pelas equipas da YUPI e do CLDS Famalicão 3G, tendo por objetivo consciencializar os alunos do ensino secundário, especialmente as turmas de 10º ano, para as problemáticas sociais da sua comunidade, conduzindo-os num processo de informação e capacitação para a resolução de problemas de forma criativa e sustentável, em parceria com as entidades sociais da própria comunidade. Começou em 2016 e prosseguiu este ano, com as Oficinas de Inovação Social que já chegaram a várias escolas de Famalicão, envolvendo largas dezenas de alunos que, através de um plano de 5 sessões realizadas com cada turma envolvida, tiveram oportunidade de conhecer directamente IPSS famalicenses e contribuir com ideias e soluções para problemas reais que lhes foram apresentados por representantes das instituições visitadas.
A Câmara Municipal de VN Famalicão vai gerir, no próximo ano, um orçamento de 83 milhões de euros. O documento é votado na manhã desta quinta-feira, 7 de dezembro, em sessão extraordinária do executivo municipal.
O arranque das obras de renovação da cidade, a partir da requalificação e revitalização do Mercado Municipal, e a construção de uma rede urbana pedonal e ciclável estruturada, funcionando como ligação entre os núcleos urbanos periféricos, as estações de transportes públicos e o centro urbano, é um dos destaques das Grandes Opções do Plano e Orçamento para 2018.
O executivo liderado por Paulo Cunha coloca a renovação urbana na ordem do dia e avança para a execução do Plano Estratégico de Desenvolvimento Urbano (PEDU) «que pretende transformar Vila Nova de Famalicão numa cidade amiga das pessoas, moderna e acessível». Este plano vai também fazer-se sentir em Riba de Ave com as obras de reabilitação do Teatro Narciso Ferreira.
O processo de execução do PEDU começa no próximo ano e deverá prolongar-se até 2020, prevendo-se um investimento a rondar os 27 milhões de euros, dos quais 17,5 milhões serão financiados pela União Europeia através do Portugal 2020. Para 2018, o investimento municipal neste âmbito é de 6,1 milhões de euros.
O orçamento da Câmara Municipal desenvolve-se, segundo Paulo Cunha, «sobre a nota do equilíbrio e da responsabilidade». O autarca defende que na elaboração do documento estratégico «fomos fieis a nós próprios e aos nossos compromissos com os famalicenses. Assumimos a dimensão infraestrutural como prioritária, com novos investimentos, mas nivelamos pelo mesmo grau de importância as políticas de apoio às famílias, com programas pensados e ajustados às necessidades das várias gerações».
É por isso que 21 milhões de euros do orçamento serão investidos na educação, ambiente, cultura, urbanismo, habitação, desporto e mobilidade. Mas o investimento far-se-á continuar a sentir por via da despesa corrente, que chega aos 62 milhões de euros, «mas que assegura o desenvolvimento e funcionamento de todos os serviços e programas municipais de apoio às famílias, assim como a autonomia financeira das juntas de freguesia». São despesas projetadas e assumidas para «dar condições às pessoas para o seu crescimento e realização pessoal e para o seu amadurecimento social», refere o presidente da Câmara Municipal que quer continuar a dar força à imagem que Famalicão conquistou nos últimos anos «como um concelho bom para viver, para trabalhar, para estudar e para investir».
Com estas propostas de atividades, projetos «e com a gestão que fazemos do orçamento criamos alavancas para um futuro que ambicionamos mais forte, mais coeso e com mais qualidade de vida», conclui Paulo Cunha.
Dias após o assalto ao supermercado Lidl de Famalicão, a equipa que habitualmente se encontrava a vigiar as instalações, pertencente a uma empresa de segurança privada, foi substituída por uma outra, composta por agentes da Polícia de Segurança Pública.
Esta é uma situação que já se verifica há alguns meses nas duas lojas Pingo Doce da cidade, uma alteração que surgiu também na sequência de alguns desacatos verificados no interior destes estabelecimentos do grupo Jerónimo Martins, que ficam situados a poucas centenas de metros do Lidl.
O médico pediatra Gonçalves Oliveira vai ser condecorado pelo Presidente da República, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, com a Comenda de Benemerência. A cerimónia acontece esta quinta-feira, dia 7 de dezembro, no salão nobre da Câmara Municipal do Porto.
Gonçalves Oliveira é diretor de Serviço de Pediatria do Centro Hospitalar do Médio Ave, colaborador do Jornal Cidade Hoje, e toda a sua carreira, que já leva mais de 40 anos, foi pautada também pela solidariedade. Todos os anos dá mais de mil consultas gratuitas a crianças oriundas de famílias carenciadas, muitas das quais de etnia cigana. E foi por sua iniciativa que foi criada a consulta social de pediatria no Hospital de Famalicão, direcionada para a comunidade cigana e para as famílias mais carenciadas; e dedica, desde 1982, uma tarde por semana às crianças do Centro Social Padre David de Oliveira Martins, em Ruílhe, no concelho de Braga.
O seu altruísmo é a razão para a atribuição desta comenda, mas o médico, de 66 anos de idade, é também autor de inúmeras publicações, científicas e literárias, com destaque para o “Retrato da População Pediátrica de Etnia Cigana do Concelho de Famalicão”. Entre outras distinções, recebeu a Medalha de Benemerência Municipal famalicense em 2011.
O Futebol Clube de Famalicão reagiu aos episódios de violência, protagonizados por adeptos do Académica de Coimbra, na tarde deste domingo, no final do Académica – Famalicão.

O Futebol Clube de Famalicão e os seus adeptos deram hoje em Coimbra uma demonstração de claro apoio e fervor clubístico.
Tal demonstração, além de ser apanágio da nossa cidade e adeptos, vai de encontro ao que enquanto representantes do clube defendemos para um crescimento sustentado e no caminho que definimos para nos fazer crescer.
O Raça e Paixão de um apoio inequívoco – seja onde for – que prestam à nossa equipa, ficou uma vez mais demonstrado pelos mais de 500 adeptos que estiveram nas bancadas do estádio Cidade de Coimbra. É com eles que vamos continuar a fazer o nosso percurso e em defesa do espetáculo de futebol, que temos de repudiar as lamentáveis agressões registadas no final do jogo.
No final da partida registaram-se incidentes com arremesso de cadeiras das bancadas superiores do estádio em direção ao setor onde estavam os adeptos do Futebol Clube de Famalicão, que depois foram encaminhados para o exterior quando não estavam ainda criadas as condições de segurança necessárias para a sua saída.
Lamentavelmente entendemos que não foram tomadas as medidas preventivas que um jogo de mais de 4000 mil adeptos exigia. A força policial com 11 elementos é manifestamente escassa para conseguir conter qualquer alteração da ordem pública, como foi o caso.
